In today’s podcast Dane sits down with Anthony Bansfield AKA the Nth Digri to discuss the album Wordlife: Tales of the Underground Griots. Recently, collaborators on this project, which included spoken word artists, musicians and rappers from Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal got together online to celebrate the album’s 20 year anniversary.

Dane and Nth Digri’s conversation takes us to the late 90’s Black arts scenes in the three cities (Toronto Ottawa and Montreal). A time when Black poets, rappers, dancers, bands and theatre performers regularly interacted. It was the perfect environment for experimentation and creativity.
